get off my case about my hair

Apr 16, 2007 15:27

people at party city were bugging me about my hair AGAIN. lay off it! i only care when people bother me about it.

so let's see. what did i do this week? on thursday we went to our first greensboro grasshopper's baseball game of the season. it ended up being a double header and we didnt even know that (the game on wednesday was rained out). we didnt even realize that there was a game in progress when we got there (i think it was on the 5th or 6th inning). the second game started at 8 and regulation (7 innings for a double header apparently) ended around 10:30 or so and it was tied 5-5. we were down by two runs twice. we left when they were starting the extra innings but the grasshoppers won.....on a bunt! and our dear bunting player greg burns finally got a hit without bunting.

on friday we went out with some of curtis' uncg ppl (justin & tiffany) and some of their ppl for justin's birthday. we had dinner at natty greene's and then went to drag queen bingo. i had never been that close to a real drag queen in my life. at first it was a little disturbing but it was really fun. and i realize that drag queens absolute fascinate me and i dont know why. none of us won anything. :-(

we had animated week which accidentally started early because we got confused about mail holidays. and next week we are continuing with more animation. the movies for the week were castle in the sky, finding nemo (i had already seen finding nemo but curtis hadn't...i should probably buy it one of these days), and open season.

Castle in the Sky 1986/2003 - In this children's anime adventure, young miner Pazu and mysterious girl Sheeta (who wears a magic pendant around her neck) team up to find the long-lost island of Laputa, which is rumored to have great riches and gems. Accompanied by a band of bumbling air pirates led by the quick-tempered Ma Dola, Paza and Sheeta are pursued by government agents who want the riches of Laputa for themselves. Includes some special features.

It was pretty cool, but Spirited Away is still the best one I've seen so far. My only beef was with the intro from the Pixar guy. He was talking about how it took place in this amazing place with all these floating pieces of land and some of them were big enough for whole towns to be on them. Well I don't know what movie he was watching because there was only one floating land mass and it had the castle on it. one of the "bad guys" looks like dr. robotnik.

Open Season 2006 - After rescuing a mule deer (voiced by Ashton Kutcher) from the clutches of a local hunter ( Gary Sinise), a circus bear (Martin Lawrence) finds himself out in the wild, completely unprepared for the real world. Can the two new friends find safety before the start of open season, or are they destined to end up mounted on someone's wall? Billy Connolly and Jon Favreau lend their voices to this animated tale based on the cartoons of Steve Moore.

really not funny...i think i laughed out loud maybe twice...it was trying to be shrek (with the big guy and then the little obnoxious four-legged guy) but it wasn't anywhere close.

drag queens, party city, movies, going out, greensboro grasshoppers, baseball
