i'm really bad at thinking of subjects

So I already spilled the most important news for the week. On Friday we went to Charlotte for the day. We saw Meet the Robinsons in 3-D that morning and it was freakin' awesome. Such a great story. You just leave with a warm and fuzzy feeling and it just looked sooo cool. I think it helped that I swear I have ADD sometimes. There was just so much going on all the time so I can understand why some people thought it was overwhelming. It went right on the list of movies to buy when it comes out. I thought I was going to have nightmares about the creepy bowler hat (it reminded me of the things from the matrix that try and destroy the ship). And there were so many twists and turns and I didn't even figure them out. We ate at a place called Bravo! which was pretty delicious and then I bought some books at Borders.

Then we drove to downtown Charlotte and we couldnt see anything obvious to do (and parking was crazy...like $2 for the first 30min! and then $1 for 30 minutes after that). So we drove down this street and when traffic got backed up we drove back to Charlotte and parked and walked around. And then of course we found things that we could have done earlier but by that time they were closed. Then we saw the Bobcats play the Indiana Pacers and the Pacers won. I wish that the people who give out free stuff wouldn't neglect those of us in the upper level. I think being able to afford a good seat is enough of a good thing for one game. Give the free stuff to us poor (or cheap) people! :-P

And the movies for the week are The Muppet Wizard of Oz, Muppets From Space, and The Prince of Egypt. We also watched a best of the Muppet Show video with Peter Sellers, John Cleese, and Dudley Moore. We thought that there wasn't going to be any mail on Good Friday so we changed our queue accordingly to only get four muppet movies and then start animation week on Monday. But there was mail so we got Prince of Egypt early. We have one more Muppet Show video which we will watch tonight.

Muppet Wizard of Oz 2005 - In a fresh spin on a classic tale, the wacky and lovable Muppets head down the yellow brick road with Dorothy Gale (Ashanti), an aspiring performer who works at her Auntie Em's (Queen Latifah) diner in a small Kansas town. That is, until a twister sweeps the girl away to the Land of Oz, where she encounters many favorite Muppet faces -- including Miss Piggy, Kermit and the rest of the crew -- in this charming musical adventure.

Ashanti definitely sucks as an actress. This movie would have been a lot better without her. But I find it hard to really dislike anything that involves muppets. Though i still don't get why Toto turned into a Latino King Prawn.

Muppets from Space 1999 - The Muppets are back in a new comedy, Muppets From Space. The Muppets embark on a hilarious extra-terrestrial adventure in hopes of finding out about Gonzo's past, and discover that Gonzo's family members are aliens from a distant planet!

It was cute. Gonzo is my favorite muppet. There weren't very many musical numbers (if any at all...I kept dozing off during this movie).

Prince of Egypt 1998 - Born into slavery and cast adrift on the Nile to escape mass genocide, Moses (voiced by Val Kilmer) is reared as the son of Pharaoh Seti (Patrick Stewart) and stepbrother of Ramses (Ralph Fiennes). When Moses learns of his true ancestry, he retreats to the desert, where he answers God's call and accepts his destiny: to lead the Hebrews out of slavery and into freedom. DreamWorks' animated film scored an Oscar for Best Song ("When You Believe").

Curtis had already seen this and said that I had to. It was very cool with a pretty star-studded voice cast. My favorite scene was when Moses was having the visions with the hieroglyphics. I always go back and forth with my faith and what I believe and watching this movie didn't really help. Because I kept thinking that if there really was a God then He should be continuing to cause miracles on a large scale. But then I kept thinking about the part where he told Moses to do His wonders with the staff. So then we continue to do His wonders with our own resources...

I just do not understand why people can't pronounce the name of the director here at the RTC. he's dr. catterall...CAT-TER-ALL just like it's spelled! i've gotten all kinds of pronuciations: Caterwall, Catrell, Caterelli...c'mon people!
