Mommy wars gone mad

Working moms bashing Sarah Palin because she works? Working moms of special needs kids bashing Sarah Palin because they've "been there?" All this while You Work Outside the Home as well?

I can see the validity in crafting an argument as to why you don't support her stance on the issues. E.g: Are you pro choice? Do you believe in separation of church and state? Are you anti responsible gun ownership? Opposed to ANWR drilling? Do you just despise Republicans in general, or fear a continuation of the GWB legacy? Those are all valid issues to break down.

For all the working moms who say, "she should be home taking care of her five kids," WTF? Not to mention the oldest child is a legal adult and another is months away from adulthood, so technically three children are at home. The vitriolic slander against her candidacy FROM working moms just blows my mind. And at any rate, men are fully capable of functioning as stay at home dads in Y2K, as any alleged "progressive mind" knows. And, I believe it was Hillary Clinton who invoked the African Proverb when she published her children's book, "It Takes a Village" (to raise one child).

Attempts to shame working moms into feeling guilt by working moms? Things have gotten pretty crazy. One can't help but wonder if it's just that Sarah Palin is an attractive, articluate, feisty executive who grapples with balance, like many women do...does that alone evoke empty or jealous commentary by women (and men)?

This is not to say that empty claims were made against Barack Obama, an excellent cadidate for presidency. I personally think independents, Democrats, and Republicans alike have a lot to look forward to in these next few weeks, unlike the last election.

working mom, politics, people annoy me
