Hm. You post a question in a somewhat snarky manner as if you're fashioning my very own essay exam question & then have no retort? Interesting. Did I really clarify the issue for you or was that merely trollin' on your part? Just curious.

Oh, from my perspective McCain/Feingold was a limitation on first amendment rights. I'm not worried about politicing, back doors, soft money, etc. Politics is an unctuous business and any attempt to make it less so is foolish, IMHO. Politicians are criminals, and if we all acknowledge it, we'll be better off. The only limits I see to them are the checks and balances provided by the original government charter, along with our ability to vote them out. (Which I am highly in favor of.)

McCain is honorable in trying, I think, as he is in obvious other areas of the work he's done. When companies like the former Enron are involved in politicing, the M-F Act is a direct hit at the criminal element of politics, IMHO. Regardless of if their "huge booming voice" is stifled. It just is logical. I think he and Feingold will set a precident for this, as well as for the fact they've proven there really aren't any huge philosophical differences between the playas in our alleged "two party system."
