So EEEEE Worthy Squee-age on several fronts ...
First ...
Hockey .... We, well the N.Y. Rangers, have signed Free Agent Brendan Shanahan to a one year deal *Spin & Squee* ....
Ok so I will be 100% honest here and say that when I first started reading rumors of Brendan possibly signing with the Rangers I wasn't too high on the idea. After all, Shanny is 37 years old and will turn 38 in January. He is a great athlete and in great shape so that isn't that big a concern as it was feeling that some of the young guys need to be given the opportunity to play. However unlike some I do see the wisdom in this signing. It's a short-term deal, if Brendan perfoms he will be back the following season, if not then the Rangers aren't tied to him long-term. He has a great personality, charisma, leadership and tons of experience and that can only benefit our young players ... North American or European because unlike some I think it doesn't matter what country they hail from .... I feel that the Rangers are building always with their ultimate eye on the future but making sure that the club is competitve and able to have a good/great season now ... So now next season looks very very good .. I think we will have one or two rookies step up. I think Petr Prucha and Henrik Lundqvist will have AWESOME Sophmore seasons and Jaromir will just continue to tear it up.
The best thing? Brendan WANTED to be here. He turned down more money in Montreal and a multi-year contract with Detroit to be here ... Heck, the team took him on a tour of MSG, the MSG Training Center(said to be the best in the league) , and he toured the N.Y. Suburbs to check out where his family would live if he signed with the Rangers ... I think that's the biggest thing .. for too long(Except last season) some veterans(with few exceptions) came to the Rangers, not because they wanted to be here, not because they wanted the team to succeed, but because they wanted a big payday .. that was it .. the Rangers have changed their philosophy and I have really loved what they have slowly done ... It's the popular thing to criticize Glen Sather but some seem not to want to give him credit for the obvious things he needed to do ... Neil Smith and John Muckler(Mainly Smith) Depleted our farm system and it takes years for a good farm system to develop specially if you keep trading away the young talent for over-the-hill veterans ...He has steadily drafted well, he keep giving money to free-agents because the kids weren't ready and Dolan(MSG's owner) demanded big name players ... so when a Cap was introduced it was the best thing that could've happened ... Dolan couldn't force Sather's hand ... Sather dumped salary and over-the-hill veterans(although the way he practically threw away Brian Leetch was just WRONG!) and started rebuilding .. he made very little splashy moves last summer or during the trade dateline this year .... and this summer? The same with the exception of getting Shanny .... I like this, I like how this team is being built from within for long-term success. Is it September yet? Training Camp, WOOHOO!
World Cup! ITALIA! *WooooooHoooooo* I just didn't like France .... After seeing what Zidane did I was even more justified in my desire to see Italy win it all ... Totally thuggish and classless by him. BOO! I was at work but during the 10-15 minutes of the Penalty Kicks there were no calls .. either cause all the callers were watching the World Cup or cause work was nice enough to let us watch those moments in peace lol VIVA LA ITALIA!
I wants me MORE of Captain Jack Sparrow

luke2(via text messaging the other night) ... I think I will go see it again this week .. My best friend, Nestor, really wants to see it again and I do too .. so probably on Friday night or sometime on Saturday ... Woot! Loved the movie and every moment that Johnny Depp is onscreen, like the last one, you just cannot take your eyes off him because even when he isn't saying anything he might be doing something that is stealing the scene anyway lol ...
Oh and since I LOVE ME Box Office Figures ...
Thanks to
Yahoo.Com
Johnny Depp's boozy, woozy buccaneer Jack Sparrow has plundered the box office, with "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" taking in a record $132 million in its first three days, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Disney's swashbuckling sequel sailed past the previous all-time best debut, 2002's "
Spider-Man," which took in $114.8 million in its first weekend.
"Dead Man's Chest" also did nearly three times the business of its predecessor, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," which took in $46.6 million over opening weekend in 2003.
The sequel surpassed that total in its first day alone, taking in $55.5 million Friday to beat the previous single-day record of $50 million, set last year by "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith." With $44.7 million on Saturday, "Dead Man's Chest" also became the first movie to top $100 million in just two days.
YAY! Almost everyone I knew was looking forward to this movie, it was the one that was on everyone's mouth as far as if they could only see ONE Film this summer which would it be and it was this one, so those numbers don't surprise but they sure kick a whole lot of ass! *CLAP!*

Spiderman 3 trailer ... any comic book fans out there? What is the significance with Spidey's black outfit ??? What's up with it? I mean I have a notion that it involves him going over to the darkside for some reason but why does this happen? Is it Harry's doing?
Umm ... anything else? Any more questions? Err, I mean .. was I going to ask any more questions lol ... Can't think of anything now ... YAY tomorrow is Monday and it's GH time .. oh I guess I do have more to SQUEE about lol ...
Jason out of the hospital without permission? Eeakage, Elizabeth better go over and give him a talking to ... oh oh and Sam, what a coniving, manipulative, needy, little SHREW! My heart went out to Jason when he kept trying to tell her about it being HIS decision that they aren't together and about her inability to believe him, instead picking Alexis as the reason why he is keeping them apart .. HELLO! The man has told you that no one manipulates him into doing what he doesn't want to do ... When he left her the first time, yes Alexis had asked him to leave her but Jason isn't a child .. he isn't this emotionally scarred person that doesn't know his own feelings and can be easily manipulated and guilt-tripped into doing what he doesn't want to do ... when he made the decision to leave Sam was only after he went to visit her stupid ass at the hospital and he found Escobar's gun-man there ... But she NEEDS someone to blame for what has led to this because she can't look at herself and the fundamental flaw that her relationship with Jason has ALWAYS had as factors .. of course not, that would mean that she would have to take a long hard look at her life and then OMG she might find how pathetic she is and how she's set herself up for this situation a long time ago and then she might have to take some responsibility for their breakdown ... No no no, easier to blame Alexis(who would move heaven and earth for her) and tell Jason that she hates him and then go to Alexis as if everything is ok and begin a ridiculous "I'll make her pay if it's the last thing I do" crusade against her own mother and people wonder why I HATE her pathetic, whiney ass character and the JaSam pairing???? *POKE's Sam* >_<
Ok, done now ... o_0 .... Honestly, done done done
OH! I know what I want(and will have to wait until November for) a PotC Mood theme which images from movie 2 ... I shall be on the lookout in mood theme communities just in case lol ok .. really off now =P
