Some updates + a meme
I have no idea what I've been up to since the last update...mainly because I don't know what I was up to the last time I updated. I am supposed to be doing art homework right now.
Spring Break was great, very relaxing. I spent most of my time working or sleeping, but that was all fine.
I'm furiously trying to get through these next few weeks and accomplish all I need to get done, while getting my blog back on track. I'm also making travel plans (more on these as they develop) but I have lots of great places in mind, like NYC, Toronto and LA.
My boyfriend visited this weekend and he showed me the amazing portrait he did of me for his art class. I was floored. It's gorgeous. We also (finally) went to the mattress factory, which is partly pictured above. That's an installation done by Yayoi Kusama, who is an amazing artist. We also saw Randyland, which is basically two houses decorated in this fantastic style by a local artist.

Not sure. Something in the realm of $80. I don't usually carry that much, though.

Saturn. It goes with my star sign and she was my favorite in Sailor Moon.

Saba, an RA on my staff. I think he was giving me directions to a parking lot, but I was in class.

I don't have many...I would say Sugar Water, by Cibo Matto. I use it as an alarm.

It depends on where, what stage of our relationship we were in and where we are in our lives. Currently? Probably not.

Only with my boyfriend. I don't tend to cuddle with friends or anything.

"Keep Calm and Carry On". Cliche, but it got me through a lot of stuff. I have a poster of it on my wall.

When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it?
I wrote a letter to my family for a weekend program in my dorm. The post office basically destroyed it and it reached my house after several days in tatters. :(
Can you change the oil on a car?
Hell to the no, but I plan to learn once I actually get a car.
Your first love: what is the last thing you heard about him/her?
Uhh...last I heard, he was planning to travel outside the country again. Good for him.
How far back do you know about your ancestry?
To slave times. I recall hearing a particularly graphic story as a child from my Aunt Ethel about an ancestor who was whipped by a slave master as she breastfed her child. I remember it ending with, "The blood mixed with the milk, and she drank it!" I was horrified.
The last time you dressed fancy, what did you wear and why did you dress that way?
Does a suit count? I wore business suits and power dresses for several interviews. Unless you mean fancy dress party, and if that's the case, I have absolutely no clue. Clearly I need to go out more or get invited to a wedding.
Does anything hurt on your body right now?
My legs. I worked them particularly hard at the gym.
Have you been burned by love?
Yes...but life goes on.
