In a cosmic turn of events I was able to catch two-thirds of Manchester United v. Portsmouth today instead of working.
I kid, the events weren't so cosmic since most of my workgroup is out of the office today and things are slow. It was more a strategically timed suggestion to my one remaining co-worker that lunch out of the office would be great today, and add on "hey there is an Irish Pub right around the corner."
The most remarkable thing about the game today was that I realized how good Peter Crouch looked in his new Portsmouth strip. The blue suits him much better than Liverpool red. Plus he got 90-minutes so the transfer seems like a win-win for him. Except that United stole a goal for a 1-0 result. So its a win, win, loss or something.
Since I was eating and chatting with said co-worker I wasn't able to keep an eagle eye on the game. At times United still looked disorganized in the back (cut it out guys!). Rooney had two good chances and should have converted (C'mon Wayne!). Wayne doesn't have the same service or options without C-Ron. Maybe a Berbatov signing will be the cure for that?
Around the Prem: Deco's goal against Wigan was magic and despite Mr. MsKTonic's wishes Man City are not going scoreless this year with 3-0 pounding of West Ham. Hooray for Cisse lifting Sunderland over Tottenham on Saturday!
