Goings on and reading challenge update

Lots going on here.  Not sure if you had heard about GeekGirlCon happening in Seattle in October, but it is going to be great, awesome even -- and I have been volunteering many, many hours as the staff copywriter and sometimes editor.  It has drastically cut into my reading time for both comics and novels. In full disclosure, I have been buying books. So another year and another broken promise. Seriously though, when Borders liquidates a store at your local mall and the sci-fi/fantasy/horror section still has great titles at cheap prices...really, what was I supposed to do? Walk away?

And then there was the Locus Awards/Neil Gaiman stalking weekend where I bought a bunch of signed books at Neil's event at Town Hall. THAT was totally impulse.

And then I  took my friend, Cinnamon, to the Comic Stop in Lynnwood, WA to introduce her to the wonderful world of comics and walked out of there with four comic trades. Also, totally impulse.

And then...well you get the picture.
