espn's college gameday will be on location in blacksburg on saturday (and i'm going to miss it for our tailgate; thank god for tivo). they used to put their stage right in front of the stadium, but this year they've picked a much more scenic spot
on the mall. espn has been paying a lot of attention to tech lately, featuring them in their reality show "the season". i missed it last night (couldn't go home before the hockey game to set tivo), but they're showing another episode next thursday. there shouldn't be much debate on who will win saturday's game against georgia tech. the wreck's quaterback will try to play despite his ongoing recovery from viral meningitis, and their coach said that our cornerback jimmy williams was just like any ordinary cornerback "other than being big and fast and very athletic and aggressive." oh, and the "experts in the desert" favor the hokies by 11. i have just performed what is commonly called a "jinx"...
speaking of the hockey game, i actually learned a lot. i learned that the new rule about two-line passes really opens the offense and speeds the flow of the game. i learned that the hurricanes are one of the first teams in the league that really have a handle on that new rule. i learned that the new rule about goalies not being able to handle the puck in the corners hurts their team's power play. and i learned that you can eat hot dogs faster if you dip the bun in water first...
i really need to find more time to sleep. i feel like a zombie. i may go home early this afternoon and sleep until the tailgate. good night...
