Mainichi Online:
Ex-Nova boss handed prison sentence for embezzling from workers' fund Not quite the public tarring and feathering I was hoping for, but anything will do.
The shine of this, of course, was dulled a bit by the news that
Ted Kennedy had died. Not that this was a surprise - the man held on for over a year after he was diagnosed and worked as much as he could during that time. I know there's a faction of people who are secretly gleeful, and I can understand feeling that way. I mean, when the dark, thorny hand of the Devil finally reaches up from the turgid bowls of Hell, grasps the quivering, fragile heart of Dick Cheney and gives it a mighty squeeze, I think it'll be very, very hard to resist doing a little jig.
But I believe Kennedy more than made up for his past misdeeds, and we all know what they were, and became a Senator whose name will be remembered as long as our government exists.
