I am glad you've made a decision. And no, not because it means I get to hang out with you for a WHOLE other year. But because I hope that making this decision has made you happy.

Although you will be very missed I'm glad that you've come to a decision you're happy about.

I was in a similar place a year ago where I was seriously concidering going to a different and better/more fitting school. It turned out just being easier to stay and I am glad that I have. I really have a bunch of good friends now at State.

I don't think there is any reason to be sad for what you "might have [given] up." Your life at UCLA will be equally full and amazing because it isn't the place, it's the person =-)
