Last Tuesday and Thursday, I spent most of the day shopping for Christmas. I made a dent in my shopping but still have a ways to go. Friday, my new video card for Christmas (Radeon 9800) arrived. I went ahead and installed it. So far, I am happy with it. I really like the brightness, contrast, etc controls for video. I am a little worry about the card over heating the system, though. So far it is hotter than with the old card. Right now, I am just monitoring it so see how hot it gets. I think (hope) it will be okay. Monday, my new ram is suppose arrive. I am upgrading from 512mb to 1gig.
I beat Chrono Cross Monday. The ending was okay. Content-wise I liked it, visually I was disappointed. I wanted more CGI. Right now, I am on-again off-again playing Zelda the Ocarina of Time. Personally, the game is a little boring but maybe it will get better the further I get in.
After must internal debating, I have decided to get World of Warcraft over Everquest II. I have already ordered it. It came down to Solo vs. Group play. I like to solo more than group and I want a game where I can solo if I wish to. Everquest II is a group oriented game designed such that solo play isn’t viable. My brother stopped playing his lvl 25ish character to start new ones because he had to group all the time and wanted to solo. So… WoW it is. And, I am happy with the decision. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if I see my brother switching from EQ II to WoW. Really, game makers, you need to design your game with more versatility.
