A little while back I posted about how we all have songs that make us weep, and how sometimes you really need those songs. svilleficrecs's choice of song reminded me that sometimes it's a combination of images and music that really stir the emotion, and tonight I had another reminder

Is it sad that I scroll your journal each day to see what your quirky thoughts are and your take on Prison Break?

I believe that I do have issues! Anyway I think that we will be getting heaps of 'Aussie' ads leading up to the Olympics....I am still getting over the 2000 games! Thank God we will only get the games once here in Sydney. Dont think I will cope too well with Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!

PS Loved the India update and cant wait for an In Plain Sight Update. Is this one a WIP you planned to complete by the start of Season 4 or will it go one forever more...No complaining here!

I was a mess during the Sydney Olympics. I don't cry much in real life, but during medal ceremonies and other patriotic type things? I blub like a little child whose lollipop has been taken away. *g*

Glad you liked India! I'm trying to get both that one and In Plain Sight finished by the time S4 starts. You know, just to clear the decks, so to speak. :)

Ironic that you put that song up. Sunrise had Christine Anu sing this live as the Pope left on a QANTAS jet this morning. I sat with my son on my lap and had tears rolling down my face.

I think it is time to pull out my 2000 Olympics Opening Cemermony Video and listen to Human Nature and Julie Anthony sing The Australian National Anthem. *sighs*

Yes! It's a lovely reflection on us I think. I love the dog who licks the truck drivers neck, lol. And it's nice that the song is being brought to us from an outback pub with fairy lights.

I hate scummy companies using songs I like to pimp their crap. I've taken to listening to the music and not watching the shit they're trying to sell, so I never have to associate a cool David Bowie song with some lame car or fast food product.

It works for me and probably isn't what the advertising morons were hoping for.

My Favourite Aussie Ad ever, But I can't get the Link to work is the Fosters Beer ad "I Am" from the 2000 Olympics summed up the Aussie Lifestyle perfectly!
