Workplace Hilarity
Something amusing happened at work today. Of course, something ALWAYS amuses me at work because I pretty much find any kind of silly thing funny. There was something else I wanted to share about today but I forgot now. Oh well
Okay, so I work at a casual eating place. One of my duties being upfront on coldline is going around the lobby and checking on guests. Asking them how their food is, if I can take their baskets/trays after they are done and getting them things they request like a carryout box or something like that.
So it's pretty quiet around 2 this afternoon and I went up to this elderly couple and asked how everything was. They said that the food was good and then the man goes "Is that racket what you call music?" I really can't think of anything to say because no one's really said that to me before. But luckily his wife saved me from saying something stupid and said "He doesn't like the music." I told them "I'm sorry." Because there is really nothing I can do about it, it's controlled by the manager. And what I also wanted to say but couldn't was, "I really don't like it either. If I could do something about it, I would." Because they play this radio station that plays the same crap day after day and it drives me nuts.
I just think it was hilarious because that is a typical 'old person' thing to say and this man said exactly what was on his mind. I wonder if I'll be like that when I get old.
