Bananas Tour: Arcata
I haven't taken a shower since Friday morning. My hair is disgusting! I'm threatening to pull a Brittney if I don't get one soon.
We're currently on I5 in Northern California and trying to get to LA as fast as we can. Unfortunately, I don't think we left quite early enough. That time change last night didn't help.
We left Bellingham at 3:00 in the morning after our show on Friday which was a great idea because it was still daylight when we hit the coast of California and the amazing redwood groves.
Arcata is a super cute town, looks like hippies that got rich. The venue, The Alibi, was certainly our kind of place. Small bar/restaurant that hosts rock shows, no stage, just an area where they push the tables aside. They get really great acts through there though, I'm sure it has a lot to do with how well they treat touring bands. We were certainly treated well by the staff and our audience was very friendly. One girl said she was so happy that we brought something to Arcata that wasn't reggae. Ian, the booker, said he hopes we'll come back and if/when we tour again I'm sure we will!
We have a show tonight at Cafe Mariposa. We'll at least get to hang out with our friend Terril and maybe even go to the Red Fang/Big Business show too. We have tomorrow off and will get a chance to bask in the radiance of LA.
