Berlin was the place I was most looking forward to visiting on my holiday, and when I got there I fell in love. It is simply fascinating with history and the kind of place anyone arty/crafty/musical would adore. Although I don't speak much German, I just felt comfortable with the place, I really clicked with it.

After spending time in rural England we were off the Bath to visit one of Chris' best friends, Jon who recently had a baby which was named after Chris. Here he is with his namesake! Yes, the baby has an astonishing amount of hair! We've been to Bath previously so we spend quite a bit of time just relaxing in pubs and enjoying meals and good company ( Read more... )

We had a lovely time in Lincolnshire visiting Chris' Dad. Well mostly lovely. I developed a painful rash on my face which was quite painful and felt quite unwell. Being generally unwell meant I wasn't able to finish some crafting for an exhibition back home which left me quite despondent.

We had a brief stopover (something like 8 hours) in Munich. After the heat of Shanghai, it was a shock to arrive at 7am to the freezing cold and pouring rain! We found out later that there'd actually been floods nearby. Thankfully we found one of those cheapie clothing retailers that was open ridiculously early and bought raincoats and umbrellas.
