are you talking about a modern and western "civility" or the more specific push from the brits during their colonizing days?

You're right, but we haven't spoken for months. I'm kinda annoyed with her because last December, she told me she would help me with this project and give me feedback on it and after sending my thesis back to me 6 weeks late, she gave me nothing except a note that said, "Aside from a few minor mechanical errors, this is a good piece of work." That took 3 months and 6 weeks of high stress level on my part? Nah.

The British were so British-Centric in their thinking that I believe they would just use the world "Civilize" and ASSUME that this meant making one 'British' -HA
