Hey all,
I thought I should let you all know how what I asked for in my last letter has been answered. The situation between me and one of my teammates has been resolved, and extremely well, too. I have to admit, I didn't think it would be. And the way it was resolved was amazingly easy. God really intervened and worked it all out. I'm still amazed at how simple a solution it was and how it was worked out without any anger or harsh words on either side. We have been given a second chance to be friends. He continues to amaze me. Thanks for lifting it up.
My health has been a lot better. I finished my amoeba meds and haven't thrown up in a a couple of weeks. It's really nice. My cold cleared up too. I think I've been under heavy attack lately with my health and it was really affecting my moods. But I'm healthy right now and it's fabulous.
God is blessing this nation. It has rained almost everyday in the morning for the past few weeks. I think it might just end the drought, or at least go a long ways towards helping this country. It is keeping the temperatures quite nice and cool, too. Who knows, maybe K-town will be green again!
In other news, we were issued a warning about the potential increase of kidnapping attempts in the city because Al-qaeda's #3 guy was captured just outside of Peshawar (where we were last weekend). We get warnings all the time about bombs, car-jackings, etc, so when we got this one warning, I didn't think much of it, since the others usually don't pan out. But the day before yesterday there was another attempted kidnapping of a foreigner in downtown K-town, right on the street where a couple of my NGO students live. It was in broad daylight in front of a restaurant frequented by foreigners. The guys were armed with machine guns. Apparently they failed, though I'm not sure why or even of all of the details. I'm a little nervous just because the warning was actually accurate. Please lift up our safety. It seems like these next few weeks may be more dangerous then originally anticipated. I know that God will protect us and that whatever happens, he will use it for his will. I just don't want to be kidnapped. Our NGO is pretty lose as far as rules are concerned and I think we need to be a bit more safety conscious. Please lift up the people who insist on walking alone throughout the city. I'm a bit scared for them.
Anyways, that's it on this side of things. I'll write more later. If you want to hear more about my trip to Pakistan, I will post it at www.livejournal.com/users/msafiriwadunia/.
