When Angel first saw Buffy...
Boy oh boy--spamming the f-list a ton in the last twenty four hours, though this will likely be the last post in awhile.
Was up late (clearly) and caught the last half of "Helpless" on the Oxygen network. Now I know a lot of folks think that Angel first fell in love with Buffy due to how she was licking that lollipop, but....
ANGEL: I watched you, and I saw you called. It was a bright afternoon out in front of your school. You walked down the steps... and... and I loved you.
BUFFY: Why?
ANGEL: 'Cause I could see your heart. You held it before you for everyone to see. And I worried that it would be bruised or torn. And more than anything in my life I wanted to keep it safe... to warm it with my own.
BUFFY: That's beautiful. Or taken literally, incredibly gross.
ANGEL: (grimacing) I was just thinking that, too.
No icky nefarious intent there. If that had been his intent, I don't think he would have brought the moment up to Buffy in the first place.
ETA: Kralik was an awesome villain, and Cordelia was totally adorable trying to explain who Giles was.
