A quickie...

Haven't been on LJ all week--still working on that screenplay (taking longer than expected), so I'm purposely making myself scarce until it's done--but there was a comment I made on a friend's FB, where she's wearing a shirt that says, "...And then Spike staked Edward."

Basically, a couple of comments lead me (getting distracted and) writing this...

"So...you're Edward, huh?" Angel asked.  "Wow.  Now I really feel ashamed about those Sunnydale years," he said quietly to Spike.

"No worries, mate.  He could really show you the ropes on looking pathetic, I'm sure."  Angel rolled his eyes.

"I hear you...sparkle, is it?" Spike asked Edward, distaste all over his face.

"Yes.  From my extreme beauty," Edward replied in all seriousness.

Spike snorted. "Oh please.  Hell mate--I can make ya glow."

Spike, with lightening speed, whipped out his lighter and put the open flame to Edward's gelled hair.  Spike and Angel watched cooly, lighting a cigarette as the so called vampire went up in flames without a peep.

"Sparkle my ass.  And that hair was an absolute travesty."

"Well, I don't know," Angel said.  "They say imitation is the greatest compliment."

"Not when it's worse than the original.  Supposed to make it your own and do it better.  Wasn't the case here."

"In terms of money, Spike, he unfortunately did do it better.  Better than us, anyway," Angel pouted.

"Stop pouting," Spike sulked.

"I am not..." Angel said, folding his arms.  "It's just, why couldn't we have a movie?  We're way cooler."

"Damn skippy."

"And hotter."

"Who can argue that one?"

"I mean really, was that guy punched in the face or something?"

"I know!"

"And my hair really didn't stand up that much...did it?"  Insecurity laced Angel's voice.

Spike patted him on the shoulder.

"Come on, Angel.  Let's see if we can find that Whedon bloke.  Twist his arm into riding that vampire gravy train again."

"But on the big screen this time?"

"Yep.  Let's face it--these mugs of ours belong on the silver screen.  I mean if sparkle boy could get a close up..."

The...Beginning?
