Poll inspired by this post, along with some others previous (that I can't recall right now...).

ETA: I didn't forget AH fics, but I was trying to keep things close to the vein of canon, which excludes AH, unfortunately. But I do enjoy those!

Whoa-I am apparently pretty unique. :)I <3 season seven Spuffy. LOVE.

Regarding the difference between Spike/Buffy and Spuffy. I would probably say that Spike/Buffy is an exploration of any relationship between (including friendship) and Spuffy is definitely a romantic relationship.

I very much agree with this definition :)

I put that question in there because to me, overall in canon, we didn't get Spuffy so much as Spike/Buffy, particularly in s6. Yeah, I'd been subconsciously pondering such a poll for awhile now :P

We all seem to like season 5 ;)

I was just this morning thinking about the scene where Spike helps her kill the Quellar demon and she offers him a hand up - in front of Riley. Good stuff.

I love writing Season 4 Spuffy. It seems like the changes that are happening in their lives make a good point for them to start a relationship.

I agree--I thought that "Something Blue" could have been a good jump off point, if one could just remove all the denial...or the Scoobies from being in the room when the spell was over, cause they totally would have kept making out and maybe shared words with one another.

I'm a canon bitch. And my 'favourite' season is six. In canon and fanon. S7 and S5 are well-loved, but S6 is 'my' ship. I am undoubtedly the weirdest Spuffy shipper alive. I should be shunned or something.

It occurs to me that maybe I shouldn't even be called a 'Spuffy', just a 'Spike/Buffy shipper'. (Well, I never liked that portmanteau anyway!)

Weirdest Spuffy shipper? Pshaw! And no shunning--differences are totally cool ;)

However, I do totally view s6 for the most part as Spike/Buffy and not Spuffy...but usually, I'm the cheese with my opinions :P

I had to think hard about how to answer the last question. In the end I voted 'more in fanon', because although Spuffy *does* definitely exist in canon I feel that it is never really adequately acknowledged, if that makes any sense.

Seasons 5 and 7 are definitely my favourite Spuffy seasons, although I enjoy reading s7 fic the most. I absolutely love stories that fill in the blanks, particularly between Showtime and Potential, and also reunion fics set during/after season 5 of Angel.

Ooh, really? :D I might have read some of yours before but I'm so bad with titles/authors... Any recs you could give would be much appreciated!

Late s5/early s6 Spuffy is just absolutely perfect to me. *sigh* I understand the writers' need to explore Buffy's dark side throughout s6, but part of me wishes they hadn't used my ship to do so, y'know? They did a lot of damage to it which I'm not sure they ever understood the lasting ramifications of...

Honestly, I'm not sure they cared :/ I think a good deal of them, including Joss, were Bangels at heart. Hey, even...who was it, David Fury, I think, attempted to put Spike in a negative light in LMPTM, and realized later that he actually had the opposite effect. I think some were resentful of Spike's popularity, and took that out on his character as well as the ( ... )
