Double Drabble-"Celluloid Heroes"

Aug 27, 2007 18:46

Title: Celluloid Heroes
Rating: G
Characters: 9th Doctor, Rose Tyler
Summary: History is not always pretty.
Spoilers: None
Disclaimers: I own nothing.
A/N: Pure fluff, romance and cliched 'tongue in teeth' overtures. I've never done a drabble before and this one is a bit long to even be considered one.
Words: 221

‘Doctor?’

‘Think of someone else?’

‘Yeah…how about that Braveheart guy…William somebody.’ Rose quivered at the thought of Mel Gibson.

The Doctor raised an eyebrow. ‘He was never that handsome, Rose.’

‘What? I don’t know what you mean?’

‘If you’re looking for Mel Gibson, you won’t find him in William Wallace. I know…I was there. Tall, ugly, brute of a man.’

‘Ok…what about Shakespeare…you know like that film, Shakespeare in Love and don’t tell me you met him too.’

‘I did, looked nothing like Joseph Fiennes. I used to beta-read his plays for him,’ he added with a wicked grin.

Rose was feeling frustrated until her eyes lit up with delight. ‘Ok….Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves!’

‘Horrible, disgusting…warts all over his face. Did you know he was actually a dwarf and spoke with a lisp?’ The Doctor continued flipping dials at the console. ‘Bad breath, too.’

‘So what y’saying is every man I want to meet in history is ugly?’ Rose asked walking over to his side.

‘Yep.’

‘Except for one…’ Rose smiled up at the Doctor, her tongue catching her teeth.

‘Oh? Who’s that then?’ His intense blue eyes matching her gaze.

‘The most handsome man in the universe…lookin’ right at me.’ She leaned in closer to his face and gently kissed his lips.

‘S’bout bloody time you noticed…’
