Journaling & Routines

So I slipped off the LJ radar for a bit and now I'm back. Wanna know where I went? Well, besides stress at work and being sick and having a sick cat and stuff...I started playing games online via the MSN games site. Not like WOW or anything...this is about addictive games like bejeweled and a game called zuma that I love. Anyway, that took up free time at work...but I'm kinda over that 'addiction' and back on the LJ juice.

vanderbolt and I have a new morning routine.

5:45am - alarm goes off, ms_monkey hits snooze
5:54am - alarm goes off, ms_monkey & vanderbolt get up. ms_monkey feeds the kitty, vanderbolt starts up the Xbox and gets Maya going.
6:05ish to 6:20ish - we exercise. It's just 15 minutes but it wakes us up and gets us going.
6:20ish to 6:30ish - give kitty her pill (she just gets the pill now, no more loose-stool-causing antibiotics, HOORAY!)
6:30ish to 6:50ish - get ready (shower, dress, primp)
6:50ish to 7am - make breakfast (currently toasted english muffin with gardenburger brand breakfast sausage patty on it)
7:00ish - off to work!

Here's what I've noticed after about 4 days of doing this.

1) I'm awake on my drive to work. This is much safer than the alternative of being tired on my drive to work, something that has been silently bothering me with no plausable solution for a long while. Now the solution appears to be 15 minutes of exercise in the AM before I drive! Go fig.

2) I'm feeling better already. I was skeptical that 15 minutes of exercise could do much at all for my feeling of health...but it does, at least in my brain. I'm getting back on track with eating better portion sizes and trying to be healthier and more vegetarian.

Some notes:
1) 15 minutes a day is similar to the 30 minutes every other day that we were working out when we were at the 'top' of our game.
2) We've made a committment to go to bed earlier. This has been easy this week b/c my Monday game and his Wednesday game were cancelled. We will have a harder time of it when both games run.
