So I was dealing OK with all the changes to my body. I mean, what's the problem with a cup size that is in the second half of the alphabet? (ok, joking, a little) And besides, even though I'm less than 5 feet tall having an enormous baby bump is kind of cute. At least folks seem to smile at me, don't bother me when I want to eat a lot and seem to be kind enough to hold elevators for me now.
But a few days ago I started to feel tight in my upper back. No biggie I thought - my lovely milk jugs are growing again and I just have to adjust. But then, that tightness became pain. Pain when I move, pain when I laugh, pain when I burb (preggers ladies do that more often than you might think), pain when I bend over, pain when I sigh, pain pain pain pain!
So I took Friday off - I couldn't drive anyway, turning the steering wheel had become too painful. My husband drove me to the naturopath. He listened to my symptoms, examined my back, and took me over to the maternity massage table where he started to perform acupressure and then injected my shoulder with some hydrating solution mixed with some essence of herbs, homeopathic stuff. Normally he mixes in some hormones to help relax the muscles - but I'm preggers so that's off limits.
It felt better. Not all better, but better. Today has been up and down. I go back on Tuesday morning for more acupressure and another set of injections. Then it's on to prescribed massage. I'm hoping in a week or two my back will feel normal again. But wow, the pain is terrible!
