Body and Mind

Slowly converting to herbal tea as my hot beverage choice. Zero calories is a plus. Working on managing my weight loss plan which boils down to "less calories in, of better quality foods, more calories burned will produce weight loss". Management began last week and was halted since my system of tracking was (per my normal MO) too complicated to maintain. I have instead opted for a free calorie tracking app that doesn't get too nit picky but allows notes and edits should I choose to get details. The app tracks food in, exercise done, and daily weight (if you remember to weigh in daily and write it down). Day one of this plan was yesterday - we'll see how it goes.

Those following the vitamin issues I had with my ND will be pleased to know that he called the script into a dispensary that will gladly ship to my home for an extra fee. This is good news. Once I have the initial bottles and figure out if I can tolerate the vitamins then I can purchase them from the dispensary near my husband's work. He's an awesome guy for caring enough about my health to hope over to the store every now and then to get me stuff like that. He takes care of me :)

SYGW is working hard to sprint towards the finish of 2009 and be ready for 2010. Some amazing changes are going on, all will be good but as a board, we have lots of work to do. If you read this, and are trying to think of what to get for your friends and family this holiday season: it may make sense to make a donation in their name to SYGW. I'm officially asking everyone from this point forward who is thinking of getting me a gift to give what they would spend on me (and maybe a bit more if they can afford it) and spend it on helping homeless youth get a new chance at starting over, with good jobs skills and a better understanding of where food comes from. Donate now at http:www.sygw.org. More on that later.

On my mind most this time of year is making sure our youth make it through the winter.

body, sygw, stuff
