Weekend really started Thursday when I took the day off to heal my knee. Then had sushi with friends for the first annual International Sushi Day - someone else made it up, I just used it as an excuse to hang out with friends. Lychee sake = yum!
Friday had a half day at work that all a team building retreat. It was fun, but lacking in emotional intelligence stuff it wasn't as useful as I would have liked. We have some team members who could use a self examination of how they act in teams. For my part, I tried to make sure we had consensus. The afternoon was nap. Then I went to Bellevue to listen to a sales pitch of a timeshare so I could get some free stuff. I still need to send away for my free stuff and I do not own a timeshare - so all went according to plan. Still, lying about not being married to spare my husband the pain of the sales pitch felt bad. I probably won't be doing this again anytime soon.
Saturday was yet another Muppet Day! We saw some rare footage and *bonus* had some great pizza at Bambino's East Coast Pizzaria. Good music, great service and really yummy salad and pizza. Gourmet all the way, pizzas were baked in a wood oven. Mmmmm. We then rolled out and went to Video Only for a sub-woofer (spelling?) and center speaker. I learned that I'm practically useless in these kinds of situations and so I watched some animated movie about a bumble bee on a screen that was super duper huge until my husband came and said it was time to go.
Sunday was a slow day but we managed to get something done. The produce box has resumed THANK GOODNESS and so breakfast was radishes, zuchinni, tomatillo, and basil (from my garden) sauteed in butter, salt, pepper, and a lavender seasoning. Oh, and coffee. I cleaned up my apps on my iPhone and organized my jewelry into my new standing treasure chest. Before I could do that i had to clean out my closet a bit. And we also did some yard work where I sawed down some more of our rotting palm tree stump. Still smells like cheese and part of it is growing again - it's a big problem in our backyard.
vanderbolt set up the new speakers and prviously purchased new receiver only to discover that our DVD player won't work with new receiver (since it fancies itself to be a receiver it doesn't play well with bigger, better, models). The solution is to buy a brand new $400 or $500 Play Station. Really it's just the thing that made that come to a head, we were heading down the path of getting one anyway.
So it was great weekend wherein my husband and I came to the real conclusion yet again that we love living together and loving one another and that we really like our lives. Amazing!
