Bought two volumes of Vassalord today. Success. Then proceeded to read chapter one, complete with violence and gratuitous shirtless Rayflo instead of listening to my lecture. More success. I do wonder what the people behind me thought...probably that Rayflo was a sexay beast. XD
I had a great conversation with the guy at the manga shop. I took Vassalord up to the counter and he told me about their special offer (three volumes = 20% off). He then asked me if Vassalord was yaoi and I, being a little paranoid about my yaoi love, went 'No! Erm...sort of...'. Rather than looking at me as if I was a bit odd, he instead directed me to all the new yaoi they'd just ordered in. Win. It was nice to meet someone in RL who thought it was 100% normal I was buying yaoi. I ended up with a random volume of what looks to be high quality *cough* plot.
Vassalord makes a LOT more sense in its volumes than it did scanlated. I am actually following the plot. I also intend to reread chapter one when I get home, because I feel I couldn't truly appreciate Rayflo in the shower in my lecture.
I now have the urge to write large quantities of Vassalord fic exploring the intricacies of the physical and emotional relationship between Charley/Cherry and Rayflo. In detail. At length. Quite descriptively. XD
In case anyone is interested, I have Godhild fic in transit. I also have some ZeroxKaname which is older, but I might post just because it's not bad, in an uncharacteristically sweet way. Then there's Saiyuki fic which just needs to be written...too much fic, not enough time.
Oh, and I was discussing this with a friend, so now I'm going to survey you, oh wonderful f-list. Assuming you're into shounen-ai or yaoi...what makes you like it? Is it the dynamics? The characters? The relationships? Or is it just damn hot? XD I'm curious. So answer if you feel like it, in as much detail as you want.
