still going slow
Time Traveler's Wife turned out to be pretty decent. I don't think I'd gush about it the way people have to me, but it was OK. Neat idea, and I didn't have too many complaints, except for the completely unnecessary reference to September 11th. I'm not sure how I feel about White Teeth. I thought the first third was slow, but it picked up with the second generation. Now I've moved on to The Thinking Fan's Guide to the World Cup -- I'm trying to finish it before the Cup kicks off on Friday... which means I have to get my butt in gear, since I didn't get any reading done this weekend (college reunion). Last week for most of my soccer teams, though, which means that I should have more time to read through the summer.
