Good morning, and happy holidays to you (if you are on holidays). It's week 1.2 of my 6.2 week holiday, and I must say boredom is the furtherest from my mind. It's just great to wake up and do literally, whatever the fuck you feel like doing. I'm not flying anywhere, and no family to speak of will be infiltrating our home. Christmas and the New Year period following will be devoid of any forced human contact (except when we attend Break Fest and the other shows). What a great feeling!
On Day 5 of the holiday, I have managed to get to the gym just about everyday. I though that going to aerobics during the day, rather than at 5:30pm after work, would mean it would be less busy, wrong. It's full of women! One class had 27, when the 5:30pm classes are pushing 12. What do these people do, they're not all teachers on holiday because they are chummy with the instructor and have coffee with her after. This is a regular thing for them. If this is what having kids is all about, bring them on I say! The actual gym is empty however, which makes sense because it's normally filled with men, and the men have to support the bludging women who are in aerobics.
After watching the Top Ten Movies show of all time, and listening to the panel of critics (Judith Lucy, as much as I love her work, is not much of a critic as with the cricketer they had) felt it necessary to make my own top 10 films of all times. It was somewhat pleasing to realise I had picked some of the top ten films, but I felt like a sheep. Here they are!
10. The Shining - Memories of speaker covers and scared teenagers means I have to include this one. Hedges!
9. Seven - Commercial success, but a brilliant movie.
8. Donnie Darko - Still don't get it, but the movie itself was so intriguing it needs to be included, although might not be in a few years.
7. The Labyrinth - As for Princess Bride, and David Bowie is the hottest thing in tight white ball huggers isn't he?
6. Edward Scissorhands - Depp never looked so good with scissors for hands.
5. Bladerunner (Director's Cut) - Another that appeared in the top 10, and will probably do so until it is banned by government agencies for glorifying smoking.
4. Pulp Fiction - Cult classic, loved it even after seeing the porno version Pulp Friction.
3. Monty Python's Search For The Holy Grail - It doesn't make sense but it doesn't matter! How many quotes can I quote - let me count the ways.
2. The Castle - Australia at its best.
1. Princess Bride - Another that appeared in the top 10, just simply loved it. A kids movie that I adored and still do.

Merry Christmas!
