On my way to work, I came across an accident that had to have just happened. A car pulled out in front of a small pick up truck and was basically T-boned. Stopping at the light had me right in front of the scene, and I witnessed the woman driving in the truck screaming and crying hysterically as she was trying to get out. Then I realized that she had a small dog in her hand, looked like a Yorkie. As her screams and cries got more clear, it looked like the crash had killed her dog.
I had never really given it much thought as far as dogs riding in cars, because most of them I've ever known were extremely well behaved when taken on a ride. Many animals seem more resilient to injuries than us humans, but at the same time, you forget that when a dog is riding in the car, he isn't restrained. It wasn't a high speed area, but the crash looked pretty bad, and there was no winshield cracks, so it makes me wonder how the dog died... I don't know how in the world I would feel if I had been the contributor in that accident, because that woman looked rather distraught.
If I wasn't on my way to work, or been just an extremely nosy person, I would have considered hanging around to see the outcome. It was pretty bothersome.
