I was planning on using wordpress and publishing the blog from my website but it was getting too complicated and I got too lazy so for now I am staying here and double publishing at my blog on blogspot.com while I ponder how much work I really want to put into making the blog my own and what I like more. For those out of the know that is one of the cuts off of Long Road Out of Eden, the Eagles new (and they say last, again) album. Why it was going through my head I'm not quite sure but as I wandered through Caratunk with both cameras, my 100-400, fisheye and 100mm macro lens it repeated itself incessantly. The other place we went to shoot after the wet shoe incident was the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. It is close by where I grew up but I don't remember ever going there, or if I did it didn't make much of an impression on me, which is sad. The place is beautiful! I know how to pack the most into a day.  Yesterday I saw patients for 10 hours, got a workout in and then went to the open space to shoot wildflowers with my new lens for a while.  I was all prepared this time with my tripod only to realize I left the quick release for the body on my 20D and the extra on my telephoto lens after slapping my forehead ( Read more... )

It really wasn't a impulse buy it only seemed that way to my husband. I've been ruminating on buying a new lens for about 3 months now and I've been torn between two very different specialty lenses.
