LA Trip and Failed Attempts at Celebrity Sighting
I was in LA for the week on business and stayed a really great hotel. http://beverlyhills.raffles.com/ Unlike most trips where I *only* get to see the hotel, this time, the client liked to go out. The hotel had a driver at our disposal, with a black Lincoln. Nice. : ) So, after our meetings we went to Koi in West Hollywood for dinner Wednesday, followed by drinks at Chateau Marmont, Bar Marmont and the Skybar at the Mondrian. http://www.seeing-stars.com/Hotels/ChateauMarmont.shtml http://www.seeing-stars.com/Play/SkyBar.shtml I was most impressed that my NYC colleague managed to talk our way past the bouncers and velvet rope at the Skybar. I really didn't think we were getting in!! We sat around the pool area, but the way the area is lit, everyone is backlit and it is hard to make out anyone at a distance because they are in shadow. Great for privacy but not for gaping! Alas, not a celebrity to be seen (although the night before, my collegaue saw Matt Dillon and a few others, and spoke to Nicole Ritchie, her hsuband and Mischa Barton at the Chateau. I slept!)
