My next finding here in Brazil occured last week at the Iguacu waterfalls near the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. It was...amazing. Most of the trip was relaxing and calm, which made it somehow special as normally I am more rushy in such type of travels.
First of all I want to say that the view of millions of liters of water flowing in a number of waterfalls can not be explained. Getting wet under a small portion of it makes lots of fun. It is worth going to the Foz do Iguacu town for several days as there are several different attaction points to visit. We visited (hopefully) all the main ones.
The photo reports are quite large, here is the link to the separate albulms:
The Buddhist Temple. Nice place, very calm. After talking with a local monk I would say that what we know about Buddism from the philosophical lectures in Europe (like New Acropolis) - is not excactly what it is :)
Foz do Iguacu town itself - quite small but nice (much nicer than Guaratingueta where I am living.
Birds park. Amazing place where I was amazed by araras, parrots and tucanos.
Brazilian side of waterfallsArgentinian side of waterfallsPoints of three borders (Ponto dos 3 Fronteiras) - special place where Parana river and Iguacu river crossing and lands of three countries can be seen. Also we found there an interesting ruin...and I wonder it is a ruin as the place it is build looks awesome. Also on the photos can be seen that waters from rivers do not mix. Which is kinda interesting to see at all.
Itaipu hydroelectrostation (one if not the largest in the world - very impressive, but after looking on the map what is the area of land they put under water...makes questions.)) Humans)) Also, few facts. It started to built in 1977 and was in construction until 1991. The land is neither Brazil or Paraguay - it is a newtral territiry, though almost all energy is bought by Brazil. And, from 17+ milions people visited Itaipu, I am 1350th from Ukraine :))) Also, there's a 40000 people working there and if you work there for 15 years - you can plant the tree of your choice with your nametag near it...motivation, no?)
Ohh, also, on the way back scenery looks like in Ukraine.
Here are some photoshots from a bus window. Just put there houses in Ukrainian style..amazing, no?) Brazil is different xD, in some places it might look as your home.
