This weekend I was on a touristic travel to Sao Paulo city. Special thanks to Gustavo, who offered me his time and guided me through. He showed me the city when Brazil was playing Chile in 1/8 of World Cup, so I had a chance to see a city in a different way plus get a comment from a young person about the actual life in Sao Paulo.
A short photoset is placed on
facebook as usual. I will give you a short list of my impressions on Sao Paulo.
1) This is a HUGE city. It is very hard to imagine that Sao Paulo has a population if half of Ukraine...or 20 times higher than Estonia.
2) The underground/metro is cool. Though it is as noisy as in Kiev and Prague, I liked it. The transfer system from line to line is a bit confusing, but the vagons themself are comfortable. On one line there is a anti-suicide wall, trains driven by computer and you can follow the tracks (Adi? your trains simulators live xD). I like the subway.
3) People here are crazy about vuvusel and crazy about football. It is rather strange (personally for me) seeing people cheering and partying for brazilian team, it is rather unique opportunity to see people partying after victory of Brazil and actually unlike in Ukraine - everyone were happy and peaceful. But, from the other side, to see in historical part with lots of homeless people living on the streets and in the monuments and police does not do nothing about it (human rights bitches xD).
4) Unlike Guaratingueta where the main activity in the town is to get drunk in a different way, there are a bunch of other activities to do (same to San Jose dos Campos), which I liked a lot.
