Bliss.

I've just had one of those days that L and I simply call BLISS :)

This morning: Drove to Sheffield with Emmie's Songs CD Number 1 playing, so lots of mum's favourite songs that we both could sing along to at the top of our voices. Was amazed by the beautiful sun shining on the gold, orange, yellow and brown of autumn.

This lunch: Spent a few hours with my brother and his family. It was such a joy to actually just sit down and talk football with my kid brother and my nephew. And then to chat about niece's 18th birthday party and Christmas with his wife and my mum.

This afternoon: Spent another few hours with my mum and dad. Watching the football chat, doing puzzles and listening to Em and her Nannan making cards and pictures. (Oh, and to cap it all, Sheffield Wednesday won!)

This evening: Drove home watching the sky of Yorkshire and on into Lincolnshire alight with 100s of twinkling, blazing fireworks. And then to know that I'm going to sit here and write something for one of my tables...

BLISS.

Oh, and I've just read some poetry to Em and this one jumped out at me to say, yeah, that's it, that me :)

How to Become the Player-Manager of a Drabble

Take all you've seen and thought and said
And kick the words around your head.
Play with them on a paper pitch.
Select a few, the rest you'll ditch.

Position the best to form your team
And tackle your theme, and match your scheme.
Then lead them clearly, nice and loud,
Out in front of the waiting crowd.

Adapted from a poem by Nick Toczek.
