See, I knew it would happen!

Since my post about things being icky, things have gotten a lot better.

On the 7th, I tried on my wedding dress for realz. It was wonderful. I will post about this seperately (read: locked) so that Greg doesn't find out any hints. My bridesmaids also bought dresses that look fab and they all liked! Woot!

On the 9th, I went to the States with Demise and Particia. Instead of hurrying back to make family dinners, theirs were cancelled and I skipped out of mine, so we were able to maximize shopping time and eat tasty casino buffet for dinner.

I purchased crazy cute (and high!) shoes for my wedding. In addition to their crazy cuteness, they're also crazy comfy. I've worn them twice already in an attempt to break them in and get used to being 5'6 1/2. They make me feel like a giant! (err...or a normal person.)

Valentine's Day was awesome. We're normally not big V-Day peeps, but we usually like to go out for dinner or something. We rarely exchange gifts. This year, I surprised Greg with a blown up print of our favourite photo together (at the Grand Canyon), which I gave to him the day before Valentine's Day so it wasn't officially a Valentine's gift. Also, I arrived at work on V-day to find a rose and a card at my desk. hehe...so much for no gifts.

After a dinner of tapas at La Bodega (which we chose because we're going to Spain on our honeymoon), we went to the Canucks/Minnesota game. My parents were there as well, and asked us if we could trade seats because they couldn't see very well because their seats were TOO CLOSE TO THE ICE. UM, okay. So we ended up sitting in row 4. I could see sweat dripping down Luongo's face. It was amazing.

On the 15th, I made a fancy dinner for Greg. We'd been meaning to have a nice steak dinner since we got the bbq, but never really had a good reason to. So, we had a day-after-valentine's-day dinner. It was grrrrrreat. Grilled ribeye with blue cheese (on mine), sauteed chard with garlic and basil oil, mashed potatoes (mine was drizzled with truffle oil), sauteed portobellos, creminis, and sweet onions. I also made caprese salad and bought individual sized pavlovas. MMMMMMMMMMMM. We sat at a fully set table, and ate and talked like we were at a restaurant. Super awesome :)

Last week, we booked our wedding cake. It's varying shades of green and blue with black and white details. It's 7 layers of awesome. I'm so excited about it that I couldn't sleep the night that we met with Meg the baker. Our meeting was great - I went in with a few ideas, and we kept riffing off each other and getting all excited - it was pretty funny. Greg just ate cake, so he was also happy. The flavours will be chocolate mud and carrot. Seriously people - if you're coming to the wedding, we're having a coconut mango creme brulee with dinner (!!), but please save room for cake and the late night snacks (probably popcorn and cookies and milk).

Last night, we celebrated a year of being betrothed (a day late), by going out for another nice dinner. We had a gc and a coupon, so it was very reasonable. Fun times :)

Next week, we're going to Tofino for a weekend away. YAY! Tess gets to come, too.

OH! And also, that several-week-long headache I'd had finally went away. It took 6 weeks of massage therapy, but it's gone! woot! I still get headaches, but I'm really glad that constant one is over. It was Hell in my head.

Things are looking up :)
