Summary: Cazaril likes Iselle, but Iselle doesn't like Cazaril. Or does Iselle have it all wrong?
Author's Note: Written for
katyhasclogs for International Women's Day 2011.
The first time she notices Cazaril's interest in Betriz, Iselle mistakes it for interest in her. Because, well, what man wouldn't be attracted to a beautiful Royesse whose figure is put to full advantage in a clinging wet shift during swimming lessons?
Expected as this is to be from the male sex, however, Iselle is not best pleased to have captivated her tutor, not relishing the thought of her tutor picturing her as good as naked while correcting her Roknari pronunciation. She is, in fact, at the brink of telling her grandmother that while she is very sorry about Cazaril's situation, she simply does not feel at ease in his company.
Then she catches him gawking at Betriz doing a bit of mending during one of Iselle's interminably long Roknari reading lessons, and determines that Cazaril's situation shall soon be infinitely improved.
Let it never be said that Iselle will not gladly admit to being wrong--especially as benefits a friend or two.
