I could never love by halves

Still being a support beam over here. My friend is very, very depressed about that jackass. :/ Not because of what he did, but because they broke up. I can't wait til she gets to the "angry" stage of the grieving process. It's gonna be awesome. And then we can all talk about what a moron he was for messing up a good thing. Twice. -_-;

Spinsterhood is looking really sweet right now. Suppose I have a good gig. ;)

I just wonder sometimes at the things that love makes people do.  I mean, there's my friend, there's my own Petrarchan situation (although, I'd say that's basically put behind me. I accept it as my past and am looking forward to the future, but it's the only frame of reference I have here), and I have other friends who don't seem all that jazzed about who they're with, or are spinsters like me but FAR less acclimated to it. I even have friends I know who seem really happy in love and those who have never even BEEN in love.

The one common factor is that they're all looking for this "soul mate" person.

Here's what I think, and what I've thought for the last four years or so (dating back to my own dilemma. I do a lot of thinking. Stupid brain never shuts up XD):  who says it has to be one person, or even a lover for that matter?

I for one feel like human beings have such a great capacity to love that we shouldn't confine ourselves to hoping and pining for "the one." I think a soul mate can be ANY person who just gets us and loves and accepts us for who we are. This could be anybody, and there could be more than one person like that out there for each of us. It can be a good friend, a family member, someone you just like to talk to, or even the person you sometimes run into at the park while you're talking your walk. Anything. Anyone. :)

Not only does this take a whole lot of pressure off, but I think it also makes things seem just a little brighter. There's a lot to look forward to each day when you think about all those exciting possibilities.

I guess I'm just saying: don't worry about it so much, okay?

This is just stuff that's been kicking around in the old noggin this last week or so. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think there's some merit to this concept.

Also: totally wrote this to the awesome fanmix Courtney Beth made for weasleytook! YAY instrumentals. :)

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
