Me doctor recommends a quiet summer by the sea
Mother's Day was nice. :)
It was also our neighbors' 40th wedding anniversary, so we went next door with a little something for them and had a nice visit. They have one of those coffee machines that makes just a cup at a time, so they made me a hot chocolate with it. It was actually pretty cold today (stupid northwest wind was all kinds of wild), so that was lovely. And delicious. We saw their daughter's wedding dress too. It was so gorgeous and absolutely perfect for her! She's not getting married til next year, but if she hadn't bought that dress it would've been discontinued. When you find something that important that you think is just perfect, it's best to do what she did I think.
Then we waited around until Mai got home from work and went to Middleton in Rhode Island. It's right on the edge of Newport, so we usually just call it that. It's seriously right off the famous Newport Cliff Walk! I've done that thing twice, and visited 3 of the mansions. It's seriously lovely. I still haven't found one with a library like "Beauty and the Beast" though. Hee!
Mom likes walking the beach and Dad wanted to soak his poor poison ivy riddled legs in the salt water, so we killed two birds with one stone and did exactly that! I got my feet wet too, even though the water is still very cold. I've done this when it was colder though. In December. Yes, I was called crazy but after my bones stopped aching it actually just felt really good. I like the cold anyway. When it's not hideously windy, anyway. Wind is not nice.
After that? Well, we came home and had some Mother's Day cake that Jeremy bought for Mom. I poured her a big old glass of Amaretto too, and a small one for myself. Cake and Amaretto was possibly the best idea we had all day! :) Mom couldn't finish hers, but I did. I like sweet things! Mom said she has to work in the morning.
Now it's just the two of us, watching Sunday night cartoons. I'm gonna see if I can convince her to stay up and watch "Doctor Who" On Demand with me. :)
