Oh, sweet, sweet days off, how quickly you come to an end! Kayla and I both had Thursday and Friday off, so we decided to go on a two day bender of badassery! Thursday we went to Mickey D's for lunch, and then came back to my house. We watched Howl's Moving Castle (AMAZING! BEST MIYAZAKI FILM EVERRRRR!) and then played a few rounds of Mario Kart, because Nintendo is STILL the best gaming system ever, kiss my butt new fangled contraptions! Once we had thoroughly thrashed each other, we went to Mai and Bubba's house since they had Lady MJ and Sir Tobes for a couple of days. Plus, I wanted to show off my godkids! They're gorgeous! Properly drooled upon, and all cooed out, we went to Somerset for some uber ice creams and then called it a day.
Friday we were supposed to see Ponyo. SUPPOSED TO. As it turns out, the theatre we went to who said they would be playing it was NOT and the theatre that I originally wanted to go to but said they weren't playing it, actually HAD THE MOVIE. GAH. We did not know this at the time, and were morbidly depressed, but then we decided to go bowling. The drive there was fun too, since Kayla, Jeremy, and I all rocked out to The Darkness' "I Believe in a Thing Called Love!" It was a total Wayne's World Moment. Bitchin'. We ended up playing three games. I won the first one with 115, Kayla won the second with 123, and I won the third with 118. Kayla got two strikes, Jeremy got two, and I got FIVE. Yes. FIVE. STRIKES. And the first one was on my VERY FIRST SHOT!!!!! It was thrilling, and Kayla and I plan to bowl more often, most likely with Jeremy, since we all had a really great time. :) Kayla and I even have battle calls! Our most used was "Heart of the cards!" but we also enjoyed "Swish and flick!" and "It's Leviooooosa, not leviosaaaaaaa!" Nerds. :)
Saturday was a work day. 9-5:30. Not much else to say there!
I worked today as well, but just 9-2, which was actually long enough! Today was also my Dad's 50th birthday. We all went to Luciano's for dinner, which was incredible as usual. The maitre'd bought Dad a glass of wine (Pinot Noir: YUM!!), and everyone really had a good time. When we came home we had cake and then Mai and Bubba headed home because we all have to be up early for the beach tomorrow. I think my Dad's ok with turning 50. Mai teased him a lot about it, because he did the same for her when she turned 50, so Dad waited for her on the front porch and when she walked by the gate, he was like "THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF 50!" and mooned her. We're still suffering intermittent fits of the giggles!
