I love having two days off in a row. Life is always good, at least for two days! :)
Yesterday I didn't do that much of anything productive. I took some money out of the ATM so I could take my parents out tonight, and then Jeremy and I went to Shaw's so I could pick up some things to go with dinner. After that, we came home and had lunch, watched Men in Black (one of the best alien movies EVER, fo realz), and then had some dessert when Mom came home for lunch. I helped Jeremy finish his thank you notes for all of the money he got for his graduation and watched some Hellsing episodes (the antihero vampire Alucard works for Hellsing, a secret London organization dedicated to eradicating the now explosive bad vamp population. It's amazing) before making dinner. I made pan seared chicken breasts, vermicelli carbonara, with the caesar salad, garlic bread, and strawberry rhubarb pie I bought at Shaw's. Amazingly, I did not ruin the carbonara sauce; it was actually quite good! I am really trying to be a less disastrous chef. That however will take some time, despite this recent victory over severe grease burns (I almost burned my left hand---BADLY. Thank goodness for cold water!!!!!). Dad was working late and Jeremy was at his card game, so after dinner Mom and I went to see my grandmother so we could give her the rosca Dad brought home from the festa in Bridgewater. She was happy to see us. On the spur of the moment, we decided to go to Dress Barn once we left Avo's, because I was in desperate, desperate need of new work pants. I was down to ONE pair that fit. Not good. So I bought some khaki capris and a new pair of plain black slacks that feel comfy like sweat pants but still look classy! I am already quite fond of them. I do wish I could fit into my old pants though. We have this ANCIENT exercise bike in the basement (it looks like the ones in "Titanic," I kid you not!) so maybe I'll start working out on that death trap again. My waist size is fine; I'm actually comfortable with it. However, my legs have grown horribly, HORRIBLY fat and I really don't even like to look at them. It's sort of weird, being bottom heavy. I think I could use my ass as a flotation device, which makes me more than a little sad. We'll see if the bike helps me out, since the weather has been too poor to go out and walk in thus far.
Today was fun at any rate! Sam and I went to see "The Land of the Lost" which turned out to be A LOT funnier than I had thought!!! I actually liked it quite a bit. I don't think it should have been advertised like a kid's movie though; it's not actually kid friendly, but ah well. After that, I came home and got ready for dinner. Mai, Bubba and I took Mom and Dad out to the Eagles for dinner. We had a good time, even though Dad was in one of his sarcastic moods. Oh well. Mai and Bubba came home with us to wait until Jeremy came home with the cake he bought. We all watched the soap opera together and then had the cake. It was very tasty. :) Now I believe I am going to crash for the night. I'm sure there must be a movie on! :)
