Unfortunately I do not have a lover who awaits my arrival upon golden sands. However, I do have a family who waits on volcanic sands. They probably have a picnic basket. And playing cards. Because we like food. And playing cards. I've just been feeling lately that I need to be in Santa Maria again. Everything just feels very right there. Even the air is easier to breathe! This is probably because it is not full of smog, and there aren't that many cars on an island so small. I wonder if it's sunny there....
God knows it's been woefully rainy here! The current six day forecast says RAIN all week and into NEXT weekend. I was not aware that Taunton was the new London. Or Seattle. Yech.
Bit of a long day today. I worked 9-6. It was pretty darn busy, but I didn't deal with anyone who was too terribly rude, so I suppose that's alright. I did learn that one of our customers of many years just passed. She was a very ill woman, so I hope she is at peace now, at least.
Today was Anthony's 11th birthday, so that's where everyone was when I left work (in New Bedford, that is). The last thing I felt like doing was making something, so I swung by McDonald's on my way home. I came home, took a very quick shower, and then settled in with my food to watch Howl's Moving Castle. No matter how many times I see that movie, I still think it's incredibly sweet and romantic. It also helps that Howl is voiced by Christian Bale and dresses like Lestat. Just saying, it works! :) After everyone came home, we all watched the soap opera together and I read a little more Little Dorrit. Now, I think I'll just kick back and watch some tv.
In other news, Anthony loved his gifts, and all of the other kids were equally as thrilled. I'm heard the twins saw their shirts and cried out "THAT'S MINE!" in simultaneous joy. They're so cute!!! MJ's had her ears pierced too. I can't wait to get her her first pair of dangly earrings when she gets a little more grown up! C'est magnifique!
