My Past Week Sucked
I know some of you heard this already, but last Tuesday was not fun. I went to the dentist to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled, and I was told it wasn't going to take long because the teeth looked easy to pull.
The first thing to go wrong was 1 of the teeth broke apart, and 1 of the pieces left wouldn't budge. This was supposed to be the last tooth, and they decided to give it a break while doing x-rays to make sure the other 3 were fully out. That's when they saw I had an extra tooth above 1 of the others that had been pulled. So the dentist finally gets the last piece of the 4th tooth out, and starts to dig to find the 5th. He tells everyone this will take an extra hour and a half. I knew at this time Mike would be freaking out. My appointment started at 11:40 am and at 4:30 pm I was finally leaving to run to an oral surgeon because the dentist could not find the tooth, and was afraid of doing anymore digging. The oral surgeon took like 2 minutes to get it out, and then a couple more to stitch it up.
At least the dentist felt bad and gave me some gift certificates, 1 to Rodizio Grill and another to get a candle or something nice for myself. And Mike got to take the next day of work to take care of me. I'm still in a little pain, but doing a lot better.
I have my Dad to thank for the extra tooth. He's had 6 so far, 3 pulled and 3 still in his mouth. The dentist told me it's really rare to have extra. Supposedly it's more common to have less, like my older brother who has only had 3.
I just hope my mouth is going to be all better soon, cause it's a pain in the butt to only be able to eat soft things.
