Road Trips are good for the soul.

Well it took 14  hours to do the 10 hour drive from Maine to NYC today. That was all because of stupid Connecticut where the traffic was horrendous and the people were rude, one guy cut Dave off, then when Dave wouldn't let him back in again, he flipped Dave the bird. We just laughed. I had my first Denny's breakfast, it really wasen't bad at all.

Oliver woke me up at 5:30am cause, well that is 6:30 at home and he always wakes up at 6:30 at home....oh puppy! I need my beauty sleep. I am crazy tiered now.

Well the stupid GPS missdirected us, it took us to Brooklyn, we didn't get all the way there, we realised we were headed in the wrong direction, turned the stupid thing off and turned around, heading back towards Manhatten then found our hotel using a good ol fashioned map from there. I never trusted the GPS to begin with, now I really dont. Also, how stupid that there are 2 exact same addresses in the same region of NYC, confusing much??
Driving into Manhattan was NUTS, I mean Dave is a good and aggressive driver, used to the rough roads of Toronto, well this place makes Toronto look like childs play, seriously, crazy drivers and lanes appear to be optional, also the crazy honking at each other. Dave said it's his goal to honk angrily at someone before we go. He thinks it would be a good anger management exercise haha.

Well, we got settled into our great hotel, took Oliver for a walk then went to Sushi....mmmm Sushi. Picked up a bottle of Merlot and came back here to hang in our pj's and plan tommorow. Tommorow we see the Nutcraker at the NYC Ballet at 2pm, then we have reservations as a fine dinning French restaurant we planned from Halifax and made reservations for. Dave is crazy excited.

7 hours from now, marks the moment I found out Evan had died, 11 hours from now he was born silently into this world after 17 hours of active labour. Ouch! How can I fear anything after living through that day. We miss him so dreadfully, Tommorow we seek out a special candle to burn in his honor after dinner. My dear sweet Evan, 1 year and 1 day since I last felt you move inside of me.

nyc, evan
