Heh. On Tuesday I rashly agreed to make hair accessories (what are they called now? Fascinators or something?) and some matching necklace & earring sets for K and three of her friends for their prom. This requires me to order in the right colour beads (I already have the jewellery findings, combs and wire). Last night I realised that said prom is next Friday! So I've had to order the beads retail as I'm not doing a minimum £100 wholesale order and can't get to a supply shop anytime soon. Luckily my usual supplier does retail sales online at not much more than the wholesale plus vat and does next-day-delivery as well. They called me this morning (I put the order in at around 11pm yesterday) to discuss some substitutions for out of stock sizes and confirm it would all be in the post this afternoon.
I'm charging the girls £9 each for the hair bits and between £8 and £10 for the jewellery sets (quite a bit less than I charge for bridal). And K has now decided that she'll have one of my sample sets instead (comb, necklace and earrings all in the same pearly colours so I can add some beads to match her dress if she wants) - so that makes things a bit simpler.
