Yeah, and the Bucks are going to win an NBA championship too!

I heard a funny thing today: Wisconsin is trying to change its image. The Department of Tourism is trying to come up with a new “brand” by which to market the state.

Are you kidding me?

We’re the Cheeseheads, America’s Dairyland - and always will be. America’s image of Wisconsin can’t be changed. Heck, Wisconsin’s image of Wisconsin can’t be changed. We will forever be seen as the drunken Packer fans clutching a Miller Lite, purple-from-the-cold fat jiggling as we jump up and down, shirtless, after a Brett Favre touchdown. Try as you may, it’s hard to get an image like that out of your head.

"We are the Green Bay Packers. We are a great agricultural state. We are America's Dairyland," said Rep. Steve Wieckert, a Republican from Appleton, as reported by Milwaukee’s WISN. "But we are more than that."

Well Mr. Wieckert, just what more are we, and why then did we put a hunk of cheese and a cow on the back of our quarter?

We have great hunting and fishing. Is that the image you’re looking to promote? Because that’s real far from and much more classy than our current “brand.”

We make cheese. We make beer. We eat that cheese and beer, along with our Johnsonville brats, and we end up on TV, half-naked in front of a national audience. That’s never going to change.
