Sorry about the mess, but this table is doing my head and my LJ editor in.
canonmates.
None.
WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE MOORCOCK?
friends.
They hit it off pretty well from the start and became good friends, and then Una fell hard in love with her. This got awkward when Una confessed to it, despite (or possibly because of?) the fact that Una and the Sexbys (yup, both of them) had a nice little self-indulgent holiday in the Kissing Town port. But they finally got over the awkwardness. Una is still very much in love with her friend, but also respects her and her marriage far too much to ever do anything stupid. Angelica is probably the only person on the Barge around whom Una never feels a need to put on a brave face.
ANGELICA SEXBY - DELIGHTFUL, DELOVELY
They get on because they're both ex-soldiers, and he is about as voluble with her about things as he can be with anyone (which isn't saying much, but for this guy, that's a lot). She doesn't hold against him the fact that his evil mirrorverse twin killed her that one time. Una respects him tremendously, and also finds a fair amount of ironic amusement that she is in a roughly similar position to him as Sexby himself was to Rainsborough, vis-a-vis Angelica.
EDWARD SEXBY - KEEP THE HOME FIRES BURNING
Una loves Sveta's good nature and high spirits. However, to this day, Una still feels that their friendship is overshadowed slightly by Una's own guilt about the O'Brien incident, and also about O'Brien's general fixation on and harrassment of Sveta.
SVETLANA NAZAROVA - AC-CENT-TCHU-ATE THE POSITIVE
Time travel buddy! He happened to chance upon her in the aftermath of the mirrorverse flood, and they've been friends ever since. She thinks he's an absolute dear, and would love to spend more time exploring the universe with him via TARDIS.
THE FIFTH DOCTOR - WE'LL HAVE MANHATTAN
Even though Una hasn't got much time for religion, she respects Howie for his quiet, principled ways and general competence level, and generally just likes him.
NEIL HOWIE - SING JOHNNY ONE-NOTE
Just plain likes Martha and gets on with her, and enjoys her company. Respects Martha's ability to keep a cool head in a crisis, and her handling of the zoo that is the infirmary.
MARTHA JONES - COOL, CALM, AND CARING
They bonded over their shared experiences with being wardens to totalitarian goons. Cissie is Una's back-up for O'Brien, in the event Una is absent or incapacitated.
CISSIE KING-JONES - WARDENS OF TOTALITARIANS UNITE
GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/GENERALLY FRIENDLY
- Toshiko Sato: Lots of respect; also sympathy for O'Brien being all racist on her ass when he was assigned to the engine room.
- Sam Tyler: Another respected colleague.
- Iroh: Una thinks of him as one of the five or six properly sane people on the Barge.
- Paddy Maguire: Both enjoys and is frustrated by the fact that he makes the kitchen the most tightly-run operation on the Barge.
- Randal Graves: Vastly amusing.
- Stephanie Brown: Likes seeing someone else willing to step up and take some responsibility for things.
- Prefect: Likes him, is grateful to him for having calmed O'Brien down after the shooting, and privately thinks he's better for O'Brien than she is.
- Severus Snape: A voice of common sense in the wilderness.
- Donny Donowitz: Fellow old soldier.
- Judas: Frustrates her, but she's frequently concerned about his well-being. Especially as it has a direct effect on her friends the Sexbys.
- Miss Parker: Respects her a lot for keeping her head and being useful during the mirrorverse flood.
- Abigail Marston: Una just gets on well with those old-timey adventuresses.
- Billy Costigan: Was really friendly about a case of mistaken identity, and has been on good terms since.
nemeses.
The one and only inmate she's had. Because of course the tool of the totalitarian socialist state had to get paired with the anarchist revolutionary. He's poisoned her, shot her in the head, lied to her ... and she still hasn't given up on him. By now, she has determined that he will never be argued out of his belief in the virtues of collectivism ... but that's not important either. At least, it's not anything near important as teaching him to own his shit and that it's possible to still have respect for individual rights within the collective.
O'BRIEN - THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE
Ended up having to beat the crap out of him to subdue him on his arrival, after he'd decked O'Brien twice and made extensive threats to Prefect's well-being. And now he's on the lunch shift. Joy!
SEVEREN - JACKASS VAMPIRE
lost in the megaflow.
Una feels vaguely maternal in Wichita's general direction, and is also, on some level, aware of the heroine-worship with which Wichita regards her.
WICHITA - LITTLE GIRL BLUE
Started with a chance conversation in the library, and developed over subsequent weeks as various inmate trials cropped up for both of them (including the revelation of O'Brien's months-long deception). This one got really deep, really fast ... and then Ray left, leaving Una a lot more heartbroken than she'll let on to anyone except Angelica. As soon as she finishes the job with O'Brien and gets off this tub, she's going to go look for him, if for no other reason than that she really wants to assure herself that he's happy, wherever he is.
RAY KOWALSKI - UNEXPECTED SONG
Early partner-in-crime when Una's methods of dealing with O'Brien largely consisted of harassing him. She likes to think she's learned better since then. She also saved Bernard's ass when Otto West got it into his head to borrow some of his warden's blood to put on a mirror. Genius, Otto, genius.
BERNARD BLACK - BAD INFLUENCE
image
One of the first people she met on the Barge, even though he was in Castiel's body at the time. Relationship was never particularly serious and definitely not exclusive, but it was a good bit of fun while it lasted, until Dean left..
DEAN WINCHESTER - FRIEND WITH BENEFITS
Hit it off well with him over shared experiences in South Africa, and basically booty-called him one night after Angelica had departed on her leave of absence and assorted other shits were hitting the fan for Una. Which kind of defined their relationship until he left. Yes, all of Una's male exes have left the Barge.
