Dont forget the amazon drygoods catalog for awesome patterns you can use and even use as starters to create new designs. Thats a wonderful business to start, especially when youve got a little one, so you can keep an eye on her and get business accomplished all at once. My cousin was thinking of going on the road traveling and selling swords at renfaires-maybe he(or anyone you know who does faires) could pimp your stuff as well.
Ive seen a few online gothic seamstress/designers who had been in biz for a few years, so it seemed pretty viable.

After the crazy costs my sister in law just had with giving birth, I would say see if Billy can stand sticking it out til after the delivery thing, for the insurance, even with the insurance it seems a bit pricey. According to that book i was going on about in my journal a few weeks ago(peak oil related "the long emergency") having your own small business and beig able to survive and function and trade locally is the way of the future, at least for those who want to retain society instead of going the mad max route;-) so you guys will be ahead of the curve!;-)

ps ive been too sick to get to the paint in the garage and thus my lack of reply to your other reply.

Thanks! I definately like cottage industry and personaly sustainablity. Don't worry about the paint, hon'. It's one of those things. You get to it, great. You can't, and I still appreciate the thought. I wish more people were neighborly. It's not just nice, it's practical. Anywho, speaking of not feeling great. I need to hit the water and couch for a bit.
