I just got back from donating blood. At UCLA, as I'm sure around the world, they are in constant need for blood, especially as it is a trauma hospital, and also treats many patients who need bone marrow transplants and such. Apparently one heart transfusion can knock out their whole supply of blood. I used to organize blood drives back in high school, so I feel a special tie to this cause. Though it also makes me feel guilty because for the past 10 years I've been very very bad about donating. I'm trying to make up for that now, though upcoming health conditions may stop me for a while. But until then, I will try to go regularly, and do my part to save lives. I encourage anyone out there to go to your nearest blood bank and donate as well. It doesn't hurt, only takes about an hour, and your one pint of blood can save three lives.
In other news...I've realized I'm far too literal to get the irony. I think when people talk, I can usually pick up on sarcasm in their tone, but in writing, I don't always get it. I wonder what that says about me...or my reading comprehension skills :P
And lastly for today, feeding me makes me a nicer more patient person.
