Beginning The End

I haven't journaled much about our impending step-down. For one thing, there is a ton of tasks to get through before we get to it and I don't want to be distracted. June Faire is the biggest but there are a couple of other bits and pieces.

Being an effective baron/ess is probably the hardest job in the SCA. Congratulations on completing what sounds like a really good tenure.

Thank you! Whether or not it was a good tenure will probably be up to the populace - but most of them seem content and that's about the most I can ask for.

This has been a very hard job - harder, in some ways, than Queen or Princess. And, in other ways, a little easier. But the length of service has really worn me down. Three and a half years is a long time in the SCA.

Right there with you. It is a long time, and a hard job. I'm struggling with the saying thank you part as well, and my conclusions are very similar. :)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts... while I rarely post, I do try to read. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, your intention, in what you say.... even in a rant.

You're one of my favorite people in the SCA and it's been an honor having you as our Baroness. :)
